Reconditioning Straightener is a chemical process that
"permanently" straightens curly hair (new hair will
grow in curly again). Salons from California to New York have
offered the procedure that began in Japan about six years
ago, then slowly made its way across the Pacific. Celebrity
Jennifer Anniston and others have gotten this process done.
Thermal reconditioning is now available at Beautyworx.
Thermal reconditioning uses a chemical formula based on ammonium
thioglycolate, combined with heat that is applied with a flat
iron. The chemicals are gentler than those used with other
treatments, which helps to give hair the shiny, smooth result,
looking and feeling healthier. While treated hair will not
become curly or wavy again, new growth that appears at the
roots will need to be thermally reconditioned again. This
usually needs to be done four to six months after the initial
treatment. |
The Straightening System is also known
as:
- Thermal reconstruction
- Ionic retexturizing
- Japanese hair straightening
- Japanese straightening
- Rebonding
